Challenger TAFE's WA Maritime Training Centre - Fremantle

Challenger TAFE is a leader in vocational training and education.

In 2005 the College was recognised as the 2005 Large Training Provider of the Year for its capacity to deliver nationally accredited and industry relevant training to the Western Australian workforce.

The College has eleven specialized industry training centres. Among these, the WA Maritime Training Centre – Fremantle has cornered the market in leading-edge maritime training.

Situated in the heart of Fremantle, in WA’s busiest port, the Centre delivers courses in:

In addition, the world-class Aquaculture Development Unit (ADU) applied research facility is housed on site at the Centre. The Aquaculture Development Unit was a finalist with McRobert Aquaculture Systems on the ABC New Inventors program in 2005.

The Centre is state-of-the-art and equipped with the latest training facilities such as simulators, an aquaculture hatchery and a fleet of vessels (including the 18 metre training vessel ‘Maritime Image’) and is a leader in the full range of maritime training programs.
